Hedaya ("the app") is an Islamic worship companion app for iOS and Android. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used.
Hedaya does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All data remains entirely on your device.
The app requests access to your device location only while the app is in use, solely to calculate accurate daily prayer times for your area. Your location is held in memory only for as long as it takes to compute the times. It is never written to storage, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising or tracking purposes. Declining the location prompt leaves every other feature of the app fully usable.
The following is saved locally on your device only — using the system preference store (UserDefaults on iOS, Jetpack DataStore on Android):

Hedaya does not use any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporting services, or tracking frameworks. No data is shared with any third party.
On Android, the app obtains your coordinates through Google Play services' location provider, which is part of the Android system rather than of Hedaya. The app itself does not request the Internet permission at all, and so is technically incapable of sending anything off your device.
The app may request permission to send local notifications (e.g., prayer time reminders, Sebha goal alerts). These notifications are generated entirely on-device and do not involve any external servers.
Hedaya does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The app contains no user accounts, no social features, and no data collection of any kind.
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
