Hedaya — Support

Last updated: September 11, 2026

Hedaya is an Islamic worship companion app that helps you track your daily prayers, read the Quran, count dhikr, and build consistent worship habits. If you need help or have questions, you'll find answers below.

Frequently Asked Questions

How are prayer times calculated?

Hedaya uses your device's location (only while the app is in use) to calculate accurate prayer times for your area. You can also adjust the calculation method in the app's settings to match your preferred convention.

Is my data stored online?

No. All your data (prayer tracking, Quran progress, dhikr count, and preferences) is stored locally on your device using the system preference store (UserDefaults on iOS, Jetpack DataStore on Android). Nothing is sent to any server or third party.

How do I use the Quran reader?

Tap the Quran card on the home screen to open the surah list. Select any surah to start reading. The complete text — 114 surahs, 6,236 ayahs — is set in the Amiri Quran typeface and laid out across the traditional 604 pages, which you swipe through. Tap the text area to toggle the navigation bars. Your reading progress is saved automatically.

How does the prayer tracking tree work?

Tap مسيرتي at the bottom of the home screen to open your worship path. The tree there represents your progress: as you record the day's prayers and your Qur'an portion, the tree grows and your streak of consecutive days builds up.

Can I change the app's appearance?

Yes. Hedaya supports light mode, dark mode, and automatic (follows your device setting). You can change this in the app's settings.

Will I lose my data if I delete the app?

Yes. Since all data is stored locally on your device, uninstalling the app will remove your progress. We recommend keeping the app installed to preserve your streaks and reading progress.
